The short version

Our own code sets no cookies. We keep one small note in your browser, to remember what you chose about analytics. If you say yes to analytics, two things happen. We count which parts of this page you look at: that count stays in your browser's memory, and we only receive it if you join the waiting list. And Google Analytics counts your visit, which sets two cookies from Google. If you say no, neither happens, and the whole site still works.

What we keep in your browser

NameWhat it holdsWhyHow long
tiraaz_consentYour choice (analytics or essential only), the version of this policy, and the date you choseSo we do not ask you again on every visit12 months, or until you clear your browser's site data or change your choice
_gaA random number Google Analytics gives your browserTo tell one visitor from another2 years, or until you choose "Reject" or clear your browser's site data
_ga_X1G7KVXN6KWhen your visit started and how many visits you have madeTo count visits2 years, or until you choose "Reject" or clear your browser's site data

tiraaz_consent is kept in your browser's local storage, not in a cookie. We set it whether you accept or reject. The stored choice stays in your browser. When you join the waiting list, we are only told whether you said yes to analytics. The two _ga cookies are set by Google Analytics, only if you say yes.

What we count if you say yes

These are held in your browser's memory only. They are not saved to your device.

  • how long each part of the page is on your screen,
  • what you tap or click among the things we count,
  • how far down the page you go,
  • the website that sent you here, the campaign tags in the link, your device type (touch or mouse), your browser language and your time zone.

They are gone when you close or reload the page, or when you change your choice. We receive them only if you join the waiting list, and then we keep them with your email, as the privacy note says. We do not count what you type or record your screen. Our own count gives you no number that follows you from one visit to the next. Google Analytics does, with its _ga cookie.

The bot check

When you click an email box, the form loads a check from Cloudflare (Turnstile) to keep bots out. We cannot run the forms without it. What it keeps in your browser is up to Cloudflare. Their privacy note explains it.

Google Analytics

If you say yes, we also use Google Analytics to count visits to this site. Google receives the pages you view, how far you scroll and which links you follow, whether you joined the waiting list or asked for news (never your email), the website that sent you, your browser and device type, and your IP address, which it uses to estimate your country and city. It sets the two _ga cookies in the table above. We have set it to keep the details of each visit for 14 months. We turn off Google's advertising features and do not send Google your email or your visit summary. Google's privacy policy explains how Google handles what it receives.

If you say no, Google Analytics never loads, and the whole site still works. If you choose "Reject" later, it stops at once and its cookies are removed.

Change your mind

Choose "Cookie settings" at the bottom of any page to open your choice again. If you choose "Reject", we clear whatever has not been sent, we stop counting at once, and we stop Google Analytics and remove its cookies. You can also clear your browser's site data for tiraaz.com.
